Frome’s third generation traditional family butchers

H.E Williams & Son has been in the same family - and on the same spot in the market town of Frome - since it was founded in 1922. Over the years the shop, as well as the William’s family, have become a much loved part of the Frome community - so much so that in 2012, today’s owner Nigel Williams won Frome Person of the Year!

Although his shop is based in Frome, Nigel lives within the Somer Valley and so is passionate about his role in connecting local farmers with customers. He therefore is our butchery partner, providing expert advice on the trade he has dedicated himself to.

Being our butchery partner isn’t the Williams’ only connection to Somer Valley foods either; if you have read our story, you will know that Arthur Court, Grandfather of our founder Chris, farmed at Marston Lane, Frome, from the mid 1930’s. As it happens, Nigel’s Great Grandfather would have been Arthur’s neighbour!
